Jack Meijer, back in the UK from the University of Wisconsin, competed in the 1500m heats on Day 1 of the UK Championships in Manchester. In a tactical race, the first 800m was run fairly slowly in 2:09. Jack moved up to the front at this point and was in a qualifying position with 200m to go. Unfortunately his speed deserted him and runners swept past. He finished ninth.
