February 2/3: Weekend round-up at Loughborough, Brunel, Swansea and Chichester

Maxwell Brown made a strong showing at the Loughborough Indoor Open Meeting. After recording a hand-timed 7.0 in the first 60m race of the day (when the photofinish failed), he returned later to knock 0.01 seconds off his 60m pb set last year, with a 6.85 win in the A race.

At the British Universities Championship, held at Exeter, Conrad Webber, representing Swansea, had an excellent race to finish 90th in 35:35. Dan Galpin, our second-claim member from the Channel Islands, finished 160th in 37:33. There were 301 finishers in the men’s A race.

Jamie Penley competed at the Brunel Indoor Jumps and Throws Meeting on Sunday, recording 3.35m for the pole vault. Tamsin Hill (4.74m) and Tia Margan (4.39m) competed in the Long Jump.

Meanwhile Jamie Seddon had a great run in the high-quality Chichester 10km road race, finishing 34th in 32:37, out of 1439.
