Brian Graves is organizing two runs in the lead up to Christmas.
The Annual Watchless Wolverton Five
Thursday 13th December, 2018
Rose and Milford Callow invite you to take part in the annual Watchless Wolverton Five. Entrants will run watchless and the course includes one lap of the original Wolverton Five course (1965 – 1988). You have to estimate your finishing time and there will be prizes for the best estimates nearest their finishing time plus the infamous wooden spoon awarded for the worst differential.
Rose will provide refreshments including her home made pizza. Offers of drinks will be welcome
Venue: 3A High Street, High Street Haversham, near the “Greyhound” pub
Parking: Lane by Haversham Church, please do not use the pub car-park.
The course – start from the pub and run uphill towards Haversham village. At road junction turn left and downhill along Wolverton road. At “Haversham” roundabout turn right along Old Wolverton Road, under railway bridge to start the lap of the original course. Follow past the Galleon pub to road junction. Turn left along Stratford Road and through Wolverton town centre. Past the railway station and keep left and downhill to “Haversham” roundabout again. From here re-trace you steps to the finish which is about 200m along the downhill stretch towards the pub.
How to enter: send Brian Graves your estimated time (over the years we have numerous estimates within 10-seconds of their actual time).
First runners off at 6.45pm; I try to seed runners in a theoretical “slow to quick” format which usually means the quickest will be off around 7.05pm.
