The Brian Graves Tour of Milton Keynes - 25-30 August 2019
This event, conceived and organised by Brian Graves for the first 31 years of its life, is an annual event that both MMKAC and local running club members simultaneously dread and look forward to. The 2019 tour, the 37th, will start on Sunday 25 August with the Tattenhoe 11km and finished on Friday 30 August with the Willen Lake 6.
A highlight of the year for road runners, this relaxed and social event appeals to all entrants as it welcomes runners of all abilities and ages.
Six races in six days: mixed terrain; short and long distances; several pub visits. Each race begins with the nervous warm-up and a scan of the previous days results. It does not matter how good or bad you are, there is always someone a few seconds in front or behind on the aggregated times and positions. Names that you have heard during the year, but not been able to put a face to, are introduced as "the one just behind you!" The event is suitable for both the fastest and slowest of runners.
The event ends with a post-race buffet and presentation giving at the Sports Pavilion Woughton on the Green (following the Willen 6 race)
