A Marshall Milton Keynes Team competed in the Greensand Ridge Relay for the 30th time, finishing 32nd of the 34 teams, but 25th in the Handicap Race. This is a Handicap Relay Race for teams of six people who run on foot consecutive legs from Waterside Park, Leighton Buzzard to Northill Church. The “way-marked” long distance footpath known as the Greensand Ridge Walk governs the majority of the route. The total distance is 34.4 miles (55.4km) but the teams must also navigate their way round the course.
Pictured above, by Brian Graves, are Miriam Drewett, Leah Hartwell, Stuart Cowan, Kevin Church, Hazel Church and Alison Ray.
Each runner is given an age/sex-dependent handicap time as a target for each leg.
The event is organised by our own Richard Pownall.
