Chad Lambert, who last competed for the club on the track in 2013, was in action in a 3000m race in Melbourne, Australia, where he is working as a doctor. Running in the C race and targeting sub 9 minutes, he excelled himself with a very fast last lap to record 8:35.50, taking two seconds off his personal best time recorded in 2012. Chad is still an MMK member so the time is a late addition to the club rankings. His partner, Alice Burgin (Bedford & County) ducked under 10 minutes in the women’s A race.
In the following Youtube video, Chad is wearing the Box Hill vest, black with a white trim. For the first 5 laps Chad is in around 20th place, passing 2000m in around 5:51, before beginning his move towards the front. Covering the last kilometre in approximately 2:44, with a last lap of around 61 seconds, he moved through to fourth place at the end. There’s a much faster time yet to come!
