January 11: MMK loses to Bedford in the Chiltern League match at Keysoe but retains the overall lead

Bedford and County had home advantage in Round 4 of the Chiltern League but were only just ahead of Marshall Milton Keynes by 37 points – 3421 to 3392, with MMK retaining its overall lead after four rounds by 192 points – 13771 to 13579. The final round, on 8 February, is at Campbell Park, with MMK having home advantage.

There was another win for Leo Freeland (M17), second places for Jacque Smith (M11), Elle Roche (FS) and Eleanor Pearce (F11) and third places for Eddie Hartigan (M11), Lara Bromilow (FS) and Katie Webb (F11). Paul Mizon (6th) and Tom Comerford (9th) led a strong senior men’s team to second place, just behind Bedford.

In the team event there were wins for the Senior Women, and the U11 Boys and Girls.

The Club Championships were held in conjunction with lots of medals handed out. Pictures above by Barry Hearn.
