The 55th Wolverton 5 was held at Willen Lake in cool, calm conditions. Liam Dee (Shaftesbury Barnet) took an early lead and had built up a reasonable advantage by the end of the first small lap. However, he was caught and passed on the second longer lap by MMK’s Leopoldo Burguete, who won the race by 12 seconds in 24:12. In the women’s race Rafaela Fonseca (Rugby & Northampton) had a 48 second advantage over MMK’s Elle Roche, winning in 28:44.
In the Vets categories MMK had the winning M70, David Newens, and F55, Alex Knowles. Third female veteran to cross the line was Debra Brent and she was awarded the F35 prize. Ewan Forsythe was the first Under 20 Man to cross the line.
