September 7: MMK U15/U13 Team finishes fifth in the National Final in Manchester

The MMK U15/U13 Team qualified for the National Finals as Midland Champions. Competing against the best two teams from the North, Midland and South plus the top team from Scotland, the team finished an outstanding fifth place, and improvement of two places over their first ever appearance in nthe National Final last year.

There were medals for the top 3 finishers in both A and B string events.

In the U15 Boys there were Gold Medals for A Strings Joseph Taylor (Javelin) and the 4x100m Relay team, and for B String Reuel Miller (100m); Silver Medals for A string Nasiru Donkor (300m) and B strings Joshua Stephens (200m), Edward Barber (80m Hurdles) and Nasiru Donkor (Javelin); Bronze Medals for A strings Chad Willson (200m) and Mansur Donkor (High Jump) and B Strings Harris Kentish (300m), Edward Johnson (800m), Harry Totton (1500m) and Edward Barber (Pole Vault and Long Jump).

For the U15 Girls, the only Medallist was A string Hayley Dimond, third in the Discus.

For the U13 Boys there were A string gold medals for Ayomide Fatoki (100m and 200m) and Isaiah Philip (Shot) and B strings Samuel Okolie (75m Hurdles), Kobe Sinclair-Linton (Long Jump) and Daniel Ayodele (Shot); Silver Medals for A strings Kobe Sinclai-Linton (75m Hurdles) Daniel Ayodele (Long Jump), Jamie Penley (Javelin) and the 4x100m Relay Team; Bronze Medals for B strings Daniel Ayodele (100m) and D’mitri Varlack (200m).

For the U13 Girls there were A string Gold Medals for Lizzie Garner (800m) and Ayesha Jones (Shot and Javelin) and B String Maddie Banks (Shot) and a Bronze Medal for B String Amelie Waddington.

Despite the windy conditions, two club records were broken: The M13 4x100m relay team of Daniel Ayodele, D’mitri Varlack, Kobe Sinclair-Linton and Ayomide Fatoki finidhed second in a new club record 51.83. The M15 xx100m relay team of Mansur Donkor, Nasiru Donkor, Reuel Miller and Chad Willson won their race in a club record 45.00, which has only been beaten by two club teams in 2019.
