The best ever result by an MMK Senior Men’s Team in the South of England 6-stage road relays was last year’s 26th place. This year the club entered two very strong teams, which rewrote the club’s record book.
The men’s A Team was led off by James Tuttle, who recorded the fastest MMK time of the day with 17:14, but that was only good enough for 22nd place. On the second leg Paul Mizon gained nine places with 17:24. Leopoldo Burguete ran the last leg in 17:34 to gain four places and bring the team home 13th.

The B Team was led off by Dan Woodgate, whose 17:51 placed him 34th. Good runs from new signing John McDonnell, and Chad Lambert, returning after a long layoff through injury, saw the team finish an outstanding 30th in the 74 teams that finished.

The fastest time of the day was 16:22 by James McMurray (St Albans).
In the Senior Women’s race, MMK had an incomplete team with only two athletes competing. On leg one, Alice Ritchie recorded 17:24 for 22nd place, while Elle Roche moved up to 15th with 16:55. Holly Archer (Cambridge and Coleridge) ran the quickest leg with 15:08.
