The club is participating in a scheme called ‘Game Changers’. In 2017 England Athletics partnered
with Spirit of 2012 to invest in volunteering in athletics & running as part of the London 2017
Inspiration Programme.
In this programme, clubs and groups are invited to train and offer opportunities to new volunteers with support from England Athletics.
An initial workshop is being run in the clubhouse on the 14th February at 6.30 targeted at Committee Members, representatives across the club and potential mentors. This is to raise awareness of what is involved.
On the 21st February, whilst training is on, we will run a launch event and open forum. Everyone is encouraged to drop in when convenient. We will schedule some formal presentation. However, the aim of the evening is to allow discussion with existing volunteers about what they do, explore training and development opportunities, support available and, not least, gain feedback on what we might do differently.
